This line from Paul Klee encapsulates part of his poetry, and is translated to the technique of graffiti the artist uses in the painting "Fish Magic" from 1925.
The surface of the painting is dark, an unformed backdrop; like before the creation and explosion of life, which was the Big Bang: in the beginning was darkness. This darkness is the result that is the subconscious, which lies beneath the facade of things and even us that is difficult to discern and understand, which seems to be a mystery. Understanding our unconscious, as well as the mysteries of life is a difficult, but not impossible feat and a gruelling task that not all of us are ready to face. In the darkness, the light shines
Klee's magic fish cannot claim to be true, but only light that illuminates the darkness. They live in the dark, and are creatures of the subconscious. The artist works on his or her way across the subconscious and the canvas, beneath which there are hidden and vivid characters, plants, colours and shapes. The significance of this operation is salvific and vital, showing how, in the abyss of the ocean and in the dark ignorance, there are small shimmering creatures which stir the waters to follow along with the flow of currents. You believe you know every inch of who you are, but you don't realize that there exists, within the most secret and inseparable parts inside you, a snail fish that wags its tail and that, although it is kept into a place that is not accessible to the brain, it releases visceral thoughts and jelly. Then, you forget the distant vision that remained in as a child and encased in a bubble, which was nothing more than a dish of fish. the vision is in there, a viper of a fish that turns and turns in the sphere. It now it shows its teeth. You see only its glistening, unformed form since you've pulled off the shutter and you are in a dark space.
The ability to adjust the senses
When everything is quiet and dark but it's easier to perceive light, see movement, hear rustling noises You just need to adapt your senses to being in darkness. It can take a while, and can be a bit annoying initially because you get the impression that you're blind, but once you are familiar with it, you can really get through the darkness and even feed on it. Currents in the ocean
The fish aren't stationary and swim from me to you and vice versa. They have even found a collective flow that passes us all through and connects our common beliefs and thoughts. The fish know you however they do not evaluate you, and thus don't want boundaries to delimit them. Darkness is their home, although they don't mind sometimes being caught and having their energy shine through like a bolt of lightning, similar to an eureka, like a ray of energy that travels along the spine and explodes into the brain, like the electric flow of the current that swims along the cables of light. The fish are like that, bobbing, swimming and bouncing in their flow The vast ocean is their home and they are not afraid of the absence of walls and borders. In fact, it can be in the vastness the world that they can feel the freedom of being able to be there now and not later as well as the freedom to travel forever, conscious it is always possible to return as in the oceans of the unconscious, the journey is circular.
